04/21/11  A Zumba dance party is

planned for later this month to

benefit a young Plymouth girl

suffering from congestive heart

 failure.

The dance will be held on Saturday April 30th from noon-3 PM EDT at the LifePlex in Plymouth at 2855 Miller Drive.

The Zumba party is for 11-year-old Destiny Cartwright.  Destiny is suffering from congestive heart failure and has trouble negotiating the stairs in her rural Marshall County home. Proceeds from the dance event will go towards a Kiwanis sponsored building project to expand her home with two additional bedrooms and a bath.  Destiny currently shares her bedroom with her two brothers and her one wish is to have a room of her own. The Make A Wish Foundation will decorate and furnish the room once the expansion project is complete.

The Zumba party and dance is for 3rd grade students and above. Students can enter for $5.00 while the admission price for adults is $10.00.  The event will feature light snacks, raffle prizes and a silent auction.  Some of the items up for auction include: autographed sports items from Jeff Samardzija, Cubs and White Sox baseball tickets along with parking passes for the games, Mary Kay products, Zumbawear. Scentsy and much more.

Everyone is invited to come to the dance and the silent auction. All proceeds go directly to the Destiny’s One Wish fund at Lake City bank in Plymouth to help pay for construction expenses.

If you would like to make a cash donation to the project, you can do so by stopping by Lake City Bank (862 E Jefferson, Plymouth) and making your check out to “Kiwanis Destiny’s Wish.” Donations for Destiny’s Wish may also be sent to: Kiwanis-Destiny’s Wish, P.O. Box 504, Plymouth, IN 46563.
