Park Board Approves Requests

April 5, 2012

04/06/12 This week members of the Plymouth Park Board approved the 2012 contracts with the Plymouth Farmers’ Market, Yellow River Festival, Encore Performing Arts and Jr. League Baseball.

The annual agreement with Encore requires them to pay the City of Plymouth 10% of the gross ticket receipts if admission is charged.  The Farmers’ Market and Yellow River Festival will each pay 10% of the booth rental income and the Jr. League Baseball organization will pay $7 for each participant that does not live in the City boundary and $10 per team per tourney held outside of regular league play.

In other business the Park Board approved several requests.   The Girl Scouts were given a family pool pass for their Mother/Daughter event and Webster School’s received a family pool pass for their Fun Fair.  Tammie Radican was granted free use of the Freyman Shelter for a Fun Walk on April 28th.

The Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County received approval to use the pool in the park during the summer months on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.  The Club will provide liability insurance and no less than 4 staff members to help oversee the kids.  They will also pay $300 for use of the pool.  Park Board members accepted the club’s “Green Machine Team” offer to volunteer man-hours beautifying a specific area of the park.

Superintendent Mike Hite said, “This is a yearly thing the kids do for the park.  We truly appreciate any volunteering.”
