The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims Volleyball team won their 10th straight contest Tuesday night with a 3-1 score over NLC foe Concord.   With the win Plymouth improves to 18-12 (5-2 vs NLC).

It was pink night at “the Rock” in honor of Ounce of Preventions Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Over 150 volleyball faithful were treated to a great game and performance by Seniors Marissa German and Amber Redinger.  Each had 13 kills by nights end.   Plymouth served well the entire night winning long rally’s when needed.  Both German and sophmore Haley Harrell had 16 serves apiece.  Harrell finished with 37 assists by nights end.  Plymouth will face Triton in their final regular season game Thursday night before the first round Sectional match-up vs state ranked Mishawaka Marian on Tuesday.

 

Senior Tennis star Gabe Vervynkt will be playing at the Laporte Regionals this Saturday at 11am.  He will face the 22-1 Aaron Zaderej of SB. Riley.   Vervynkt’s appearence will represent a #1-Plymouth Singles player into the Regional round since 1995.

A pair of Seniors from Triton High School, Pete Kaufman and Jeff Ross, will be participating in the first match of the Doubles Regionals at 11am.

 

On Monday the Red Storm 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Warsaw Edgewood. The team won in 2 games. Leaders for the matches were:

Serving: LJ Singleton, Allie Dennie, Emily Hoffer,

Setting: LJ Singleton and Ashley Harrell

Passing: Kennedy Snyder

Hitting: Allie Dennie, Anna Bockman, Nicole Horvath, LJ Singleton

The team ended the season 20 and 2. They begin conference play on tonight (Wednesday).

 

Last night the 8th football team hosted Wawasee in the first round of the NELMSC. The young Rockies defeated them 24-8 to advance to the semifinals of the conference tournament. David Bacon had 2 touchdowns and Colten Schuler added one touchdown.   Jake Young was 3-3 on PAT’s. Caleb Koss and Tristan McMillen both had great games running the ball.   Weston Houin, Colin Roth, and Nate Nixon.   Schuler also had 2 interceptions.   The young Rockies will be back in action Tuesday when the travel to Warsaw to take on Edgewood at 6:30.   Their record is now 8-2.
