Lady Chargers Beat Lansing

October 13, 2012

LANSING, MI – The Lady Chargers won a conference match over Lansing Community College with scores of 24-26, 25-13, 15-25, 18-25.  Ancilla now has a regular season record of 15-11 with a MCCAA record of 5-6.

Coach Singleton happily stated, “The girls pulled together after a slow start to get another conference win.  It was an overall mental win as it would have been easy for the girls to hang their heads and give up with such a poor performance in game 2 but they battled back.”

Kaylia Richardson (Indianapolis, IN) who had 15 kills in 22 attempts with no hitting errors.  She also added 3.5 blocks for a very solid performance at the net.  Setter Kristen Trudell (Horton, MI) not only had 32 assists, she had 19 digs to go along with a gutsy effort.  Mieka Wagner (Evansville, IN) who has spent the last few weeks in a DS/Libero position did a great job hitting the ball with 6 kills with no errors in 11 attempts.

Singleton mentioned, “I feel we are starting to overcome some of our mental weaknesses as a team and look forward to a great weekend on the road in Chicago!”

The Lady Chargers play this weekend in the Prarie State tournament.
