12/17/12 Representative-Elect Jackie Walorski (IN-02) announced her appointment to the Veterans’ Affair Committee for the 113th Congress, the second committee appointment for the Freshman Member-elect released this week.

“As the daughter of an Air Force Veteran, I am honored to serve on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee to continue advocating for Hoosier veterans,” said Walorski.

Rep. Jeff Miller, Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the new and returning members in a release stating, “I look forward to working with both returning and new Members of the Committee. We have a lot to accomplish in the coming Congress, from addressing veteran unemployment issues, to improving access to mental health care, to increasing oversight of VA.”

The Veterans’ Affairs Committee plans to focus on improving VA healthcare and services for our nation’s brave veteransnin the upcoming Congress.  The Committee is comprised of 25 members, with Walorski tapped as one of three new members appointed by the Majority.

“I was proud to support legislation to assist veterans during my State House tenure in matters of education and job employment, and I look forward to expanding this at the federal level for those who so bravely served our country,” said Walorski.

Last week, Walorski was also appointed to the House Armed Services Committee (HASC).
