Pilgrims end a 3 game road with another road win!

December 8, 2012

The Plymouth Pilgrims are playing good basketball right now.  Once again the end result was a 57-37 win over the Peru Tigers.

“I liked how we started the ballgame.  We built up our lead early, 20-1 at one point late in the first quarter, and we just kept going.  This team does well when were able to establish the tone early.”, said Plymouth Head Coach Ryan Bales.   “Our defensive pressure created a lot of turnovers, even those that were unforced, really were related to what we were doing to their offense.”

Plymouth caused 13 turnovers in the first half, 3 in the first 1:10 of the first quarter.  Plymouth controlled the pace throughout the game.  For a fifth straight game, Plymouth shot above 50% from the floor.    The Pilgrims were solid at the Free Throw line shooting 84% (11/13).    Both Plymouth and Peru finished with 18 rebounds by nights end.

“I didn’t feel we rebounded that well.  I saw a lot of stationary players in spurts of the game.  That will get addressed in practice this week.”, added Bales.
