Speed also occurred to me in this -- until I looked up the statistics for what the stopping distance is for a 35MPG car -- the legal limit there. It is 45 feet. From the pictures this looks about right, although hitting a curve and lights would certainly take inertia away from that.

Any charges filed? This story just don't sound right. What is a 20-yr-old is doing out at 3 am? (Getting off work? Coming home after a night on the town?) Who swerves from the east side of the road all the way across the west lane, off the road, over a curb, over 3 property's garbages cans, over two street lights before coming to a stop on the curb? Could speed have been a factor? It would appear so. Was a breathalizer administered? Could the kid have just fallen asleep? No one keeps driving and running over that much stuff without being asleep or impaired or going far too fast. And how many loose dogs have you seen running around Plymouth? Anyone have any input?
