Â 05/25/12 Calling all senior citizens!!! Scott Michel of the Plymouth Park Department and Anna Corbett of Millerâ€™s Senior Living Community are pleased to announce thatÂ it is time for the 2012 Senior Classic Games.Â The games are open to any senior man or woman.Â The games will be held in Plymouthâ€™s Centennial Park and participating sports businesses July 1 â€“ 5, 2012.
Michel states the mission of the Centennial Park Senior Classic Games is to â€śoffer a community program embracing healthy lifestyles for adults 50 years of age and older through fitness and sportâ€ť. Corbett encouragess seniors to sign-up for the different events which include a three mile bike race, doubles and singles tennis, shuffle board, bowling, men and womenâ€™s golf, a basketball free throw contest and a cornhole contest.
Closing ceremonies including the presentation of gold, silver and bronze medals is scheduled for Thursday, July 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the Young Amphitheatre.Â The Sentimental Journeyâ€™s of Bourbon will end the event with a concert of big band music.
