The Plymouth Freshman football team defeated Wawasee Thursday night 41-0.  The Rockie offense was led by quarterback Jack Barron who ran for one touchdown and threw for two others connecting with Cam Eveland and Chris Roberts.  Bodie Neidig had another offensive TD of his own with a 18 yard run.  On defense, Barron came up big again by intercepting three passes returning two for scores.  Roberts and Matt Friar came up with interceptions of their own while Brandt Peters recovered a fumble.  This was the fifth time the young Rockie defense has shut out their opponent in six games.  Plymouth stands at 6-0 on the year and will travel to Concord next Thursday.

Plymouth Girls Volleyball swept NLC foe Goshen in 3 straight games:  25-20; 20-25; 25-6.  Senior Marissa German had 11 kills in the win.  Amber Redinger had a total of 11 blocks.  Plymouth improves to .500 at 12-12 on the season.  3-2 vs NLC.

Plymouth Lady Rockies got a 3-2 win last night on Senior Night against CGA.  A late goal in the second half proved to be the difference.   Plymouth plays their final regular season game vs South Bend Adams this Saturday morning at the Kindt Soccerplex.

The PHS Boys Soccer team ended their regular season on a high note with 2-1 WIN on Senior Night over Wawasee at the Kindt SoccerPlex.  After a goal by Wawasee, Plymouth Senior Alex Orellana scored his fourth goal of the season to tie it up before halftime.   Clay Marshall got the game winning goal in the 2nd half while the defense clamped down on Wawasee the rest of the night.   Plymouth finishes the regular season 4-9-4.   They will face Northwood on Monday night at 6pm in the first game of the Plymouth Sectionals.

In an interesting event for the traveling Red Storm team the meet was split up in an unexpected way. The Redstorm girls 6th & 7th graders raced first for a shorter race distance of 2K (1.24 miles) and resulted in Plymouth taking first versus Kelsing and also winning vs. Boston. Katelyn Carothers ran a hard, strong race and finished first with Tia Freshour 15 seconds behind for 5th place overall. The Redstorm boys 6th & 7th graders also ran a 2K distance and won vs. Kelsing but lost to Boston. 7th grader Shane Pursch was first for Lincoln and 3rd overall; second place for Lincoln was 6th grader Daniel Stauffer who finished 5th overall. The only normal 3K distance was reserved for the 8th grade boys and girls race, running separate as normal. The Plymouth 8th grade boys team lost to Kelsing but Plymouth vs. Boston resulted in a Redstorm win.  Standout performance by Jordan Morrow who set a new personal record time of 11:57, other hard efforts by Plymouth crew of Micah Calhoun, Chris Noodwang, Isias Frias and an awesome and new “PR” by Alex Rostron.

The Plymouth 8th grade girls team defeated both schools with a perfect score.  The team was powerful with a sweep of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places contribute by Rachel Crawford, Kendall Grove, Katie McCormick, Emme Listenberger, & Janelle Cleveland. Alexis Aistrop only 15 seconds behind and setting a new “PR” of 15:10.

The team will continue to work very hard in practice for one more week. The final regular season meet is next Tuesday at Lakeview Warsaw and the team will wrap up the season with Conference meet next Saturday October 6th.
