All Indiana Farmers Eligible for Relief
09/04/12 The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently declared all 92 counties in Indiana as natural disaster areas due to the ongoing drought. This most recent announcement means all Hoosier farmers are now eligible for low interest emergency loansto help:
- Restore or replace essential property
- Pay all or part of production costs associated with the disaster year
- Pay essential family living expenses
- Reorganize the farming operation
- Refinance certain debts, excluding real estate
In these hard times, I encourage all farmers to learn more about the Emergency Farm Loans offered by the USDA and Farm Service Agency. |

I’m removing my tongue from my cheek. Of course, I deeply appreciate farmers and the desperate drought conditions that necessitate federal aid. And I’m grateful for Medicare, and would hate to see it turned into a voucher system. I probably would not qualify for membership in the tea party.
Evil federal government? Come on, Mike, that not only is a great exaggeration, but seems a bit paranoid.
Let’s put it simply: There is a strong push for military defense spending; however, it’s the food basket that we rely on for our sustenance.
You might not be a farmer, but you do, indeed, depend on his products in order to survive – the need to protect this industry is great. Now, let’s take a look at Medicare. It is a mandatory program that we all pay into, but not all of us will live long enough to reap the fruits of our bounty, let alone putting our nation at risk of a famine. Give up your Medicare, and I will listen to your argument.
It’s another example of our evil federal government. The tea party should revolt!
