08/01/12 Summertime winding down is also the time for the annual events of Alumni Week.
The week starts with a Plymouth Alumni Association day out Wednesday at the South Bend Silver Hawks. To reserve your tickets, call 574-952-4444 today.
Then comes the Ladies Big Red Open. This year’s 13th annual event at the Plymouth Country Club will be held Thursday, Aug. 2. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a shot gun start at 9:30 a.m. The outing concludes with lunch and an awards ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday night Lincoln Junior High will be the place where former Plymouth High School Volleyball greats gather to play their annual Alumni Game.
For the second year, the Plymouth Alumni Association will sponsor the “old timers” game starting at 6 p.m. Aug. 2.

The Art Thomas Big Red open will celebrate its 22nd year Friday. The annual event brings together hundreds of former Plymouth athletes, family members and friends for a day of golf at the Plymouth Country Club. The event will tee off at 11 a.m. Aug. 3 with lunch and dinner provided. Cost is $85 per person.
There is also a nine hole tournament option that tees off at 2:30 p.m. and does not include lunch. Cost for nine holes is $50.
This year, the “All Class” cocktail party reunion will be held at the Plymouth Country Club after the tournament beginning at 7 p.m. Locker room facilities are available at the club for those wishing to clean up after the tournament and attend the party. There will be taxi service available to all attendees from about 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Saturday, Plymouth boys basketball’s best from all eras will test their skills again in this year’s annual basketball “Alumni Game” sponsored by the Plymouth Alumni Association.
Lincoln Junior High will host the event Saturday, Aug. 4 beginning at 6 p.m. Players from all eras of PHS basketball will compete for bragging rights in the game and a chance to show the pride and tradition that is Plymouth basketball.
