09/13/12 On Wednesday, August 29th at approximately 7:30 AM Patrolman Jonathan Bryant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 300 Block of Vandalia Street in LaPaz for a theft complaint. Upon arriving to the scene the victim advised that an unknown subject had entered her vehicle and stole her purse. During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the subjects had used the victim’s credit cards to make some purchases at local establishments. Officer’s was able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspects and positively identified them as Nicole Martin and Justin Haining. The suspects were located in a trailer at Maple Leaf Trailer Park in LaPaz and was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where they was held on theft, fraud and forgery charges with bonds set at $10,000.
On Saturday, September 8th at 2:57 PM Patrolman Bryant performed a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of 12th Road and Rose Road. During the investigation of the traffic stop it was discovered that 18 year old Cameron Gardner was operating a vehicle without ever receiving a valid driver’s license. Mr. Gardner was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $255 bond.
