06/21/12 Monday evening the City Attorney Sean Surissi and City Engineer Rick Gaul opened bids for the 2012 Street and Sidewalk Projects during the Plymouth Board of Public Works meeting.

The project will make improvements to Baker Street from North Michigan Street east to Grand Street.  The roadway will be milled down and a brand new road surface will be placed along with new curbs and gutters.

Sidewalks on both sides of Baker Street in the residential area will be replaced and widened to 5 feet.

Four companies submitted bids for the project:

E & B Paving from Rochester bid $256,520.00

Reith Riley Construction from South Bend bid $183,356.25

Walsh & Kelly Paving from South Bend bid $183,356.25

Phen & Brown from Milford bid $159,570.00

Bids were taken under-advisement by the city attorney and engineer and a recommendation is expected during the June 25th meeting of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety.
