09/14/12 Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul presented a change order for the Baker Street reconstruction project during Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.  The change order is for a deduct of $5,476.50.  The board unanimously approved the request.

Mike Reese from The Troyer Group requested a variance to reduce the size of parking spaces on Water Street for River Park Square and the Farmers’ Market.  The city ordinance requires a parking space of 20 feet by 10 feet.  Due to the new sidewalk and streetscape the space need to be reduced to 18 ½ feet by 10 feet.  The new spaces will also be perpendicular versed parallel.   The new improvements will improve accessibility and allow for a streetscape similar to the uptown area with brick pavers and street lighting.   The variance request was approved.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi presented a resolution for the hours of Trick-or-Treat in the residential areas.  Children will scurry through the neighborhoods in costumes on Wednesday, October 31st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Residents who wish to pass out treats to the ghosts and goblins, fairies and superheros should turn their porch light on.

The Board of Public Works and Safety also approved the request of Father Kummer from Saint Michael to close Center Street from Madison to Monroe on Saturday, September 29th.  The street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a Street Fair to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the perish.
