09/27/12 The founder of Hoosier Racing Tire in Plymouth and Lakeville died Wednesday at his home in Lakeville following a lengthy illness.
Bob Newton and his wife, Joyce, started Hoosier Racing Tire in the early 60’s as R & J Manufacturing. Today, Hoosier is the largest race tire manufacturer in the world, and all Hoosier race tires are still proudly “Made in the USA.”
Details have not yet been released on funeral services for 85 year old Robert “Bob” Newton.
