07/17/12 The Town of Bourbon has received notice from the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Homeland Security that because of the drought conditions they have issued a Water Shortage Warning.  The objectives of the Water Shortage Warning is to prepare for a coordinated response and initiate a concerted voluntary conservation measures in an effort to avoid or reduce shortage, relieve stressed sources, and if possible forestall the need for mandatory water use restrictions.

The goal of the water conservation efforts during the Water Shortage Warning stage is a voluntarily reduction in current water use of 10 – 15%.  The Town of Bourbon has developed changes in the programs of the Town of Bourbon Splash Pad, located at the Town Park in an effort to voluntarily reduce the amount of water use.  The Town of Bourbon Splash Pad will be in operation from Noon (12:00 p.m.) to 5:00 p.m. only, until the Water Shortage Warning has been lifted.
