07/20/12 On Tuesday, July 17 about 8:40pm the Bremen Police Department was contacted by the bartender at the Bremen Café’ in the 100 block of East Plymouth Street for a subject refusing to leave. Upon the officers’ arrival witnesses reported that the suspect had punched the Bartender in the face and other patrons at the bar had secured the suspect. Officers report that the suspect appeared intoxicated and had an injury to his face. The suspect was taken into custody and while being escorted to the police car for transporting began resisting the officers.  The suspect was later transported to Community Hospital of Bremen for his injuries and while there he again resisted and fought with officers. During the incident, Officer Ron Rybicki of the Bremen Police Department suffered minor scrapes, cuts and bruising. The suspect was identified as Brett Bowling, 40, of Bremen.   He was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail on a complaint of Trespass, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Battery, and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer.
