09/28/12 On Wednesday, September 26th at 8:10 a.m. the Plymouth Police Department received a report from a resident of the 700 block of Ferndale Street in Plymouth regarding the theft of items from a vehicle that had occurred overnight.

The investigation revealed that a credit card from this theft had been used in a transaction at a gas station on West Jefferson Street at approximately 7:50 a.m. on September 26.  At 11:33 a.m. the Plymouth Police Department received a call from 1st Source Bank in Plymouth in reference to someone attempting cash one of the victim’s checks from this theft. This subject had identified himself as Cameron Lawton and had fled from the bank during the transaction.

Later on Wednesday at 5:28 p.m. the victim called the Plymouth Police Department and advised that the suspect that had been observed on bank video was on North Plum Street.   Cameron Lawton was located by officers with the Plymouth Police Department and transported to the Department for questioning. During interrogation Mr. Lawton admitted that he was responsible for the theft and unauthorized use of the victim’s credit card and forged check.

21 year old Cameron Lawton of 14B Road in Plymouth was lodged in the Marshall County Jail and booked for Forgery (C Felony), Credit Card Fraud (D Felony) and Theft (D Felony). Bond has been set at $10,000.00 cash.
