05/17/12 Entertainers are putting the finishing touches on their acts for the Christian Variety show that will take place Saturday evening May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Located at 400 N. Michigan St.  The show is free and open to the public.

Annette Ray and Cindy Flagg have brought together a variety of ages and talent for the audience’s enjoyment.  While this is the second year the event has been held at the FUMC the ladies have held the event three other times.  Because of life commitments getting in the way there were several years that passed between the first two variety shows and last year’s event.  They plan to make this an annual event from this point on.

They title the show a Christian Variety Show because the main requirement to be in the show is to share a your talent in a way that glorifies God and brings honor to Him.   This year they are pleased to announce the following participants in no particular order:  Cindy Taber, piano; Jim Davis, vocal; Laura Stutzman, vocal; Justina Lichtenbarger, hula hoop dance; Don Harness, comedy skit; Cindy Miller and Craig Williams, saxophone and piano duet; Annette Ray, Don Harness, Deb Fivecoat, Betty Berkeypile, Sharon Philips, Sara Kauffman, Elizabeth Beatty and Carrie Ullmer, flute choir; Mary Grable, vocal; Duane Drake, banjo; Lifeplex Dance Academy, contemporary dance; Jacob Pritchard, oboe solo; Quentin Flagg, vocal; Cindy Flagg, Annette Ray, Courtney Curry and Becky McKee, sign language choir; Dwayne Potter, guitar and vocal; Kathie Jerrell and Linda Hulse, hammered dulcimer duet; Scott Doll, guitar and vocal; Tom Boys, piano and vocal; and Paula Kinney and Kathy Moore, musical skit.

If you know someone in this line up you are invited to come out and support them as they perform.  If you do not know anyone in this line up you are invited to come  anyway and have a fun evening of fellowship and good entertainment.

The FUMC is handicap accessible.  While there is no admission fee you are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Neighborhood Center food pantry.  There will also be a free will offering taken for Rev. Matthew Pickut and his family.
