06/18/12 The City of Plymouth will hold their two regular meetings Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.  The agenda includes opening bids for the 2012 Street and Sidewalk Projects, reports by City department heads, and the request of United Telephone to install communication infrastructure on Harrison Street and Jim Neu Drive.

In other business is the issue citizens on Hogarth & Miner Street are having with a new drainage ditch that makes it almost impossible to place their trash and recycling totes at the curb and difficulties mowing it due to the steepness of the bank.  Cyndi Bumpus brought the issue to the attention of the Board of Public Works and Safety nearly two months ago.

The Common Council will meet at 6:30.  Their agenda includes an ordinance pertaining to new state legislation on nepotism.  Governmental agencies must pass their ordinances by July 1st.

In other business the Plymouth Common Council will considers on first reading an ordinance to approve the petitions in favor of extending park and recreation services to the unincorporated areas of Center and West Townships and to place the question on the November ballot for citizens to vote on.

Another important issue the City Council will consider is a resolution approving the issuance of bonds by the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission for the development of phase 1 of River Park Square.

The City meetings begin at 6 p.m. and are open to the public for comments and questions on agenda items only.
