02/27/12 The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Common Council will meet Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

Agenda for the Board of Public Works & Safety includes the awarding of quotes for a new vehicle for the Building Commission and for the Police Chief.  It is also anticipated that they will ratify the bid award for the Ledyard Street Water Treatment Plant project.

Members of the Board of Public Works and Safety will hear reports from the various department heads along with the City Attorney’s report, City Engineer’s report, and Clerk Treasurer.

During the Common Council meeting, Mayor Mark Senter will read his State of the City Address.  Following the Mayor, a public hearing will be conducted for the tax abatement request of Zentis Food Solutions North America.

Members of the Common Council will consider the ordinance to establish a 7 member Common Council with 4 elected districts and 3 at-large seats on third reading Monday night.  Because the population of Plymouth has reached above 10,000 it is mandatory to increase from 5 to 7 members.  After the census the City is also required to re-district for the purpose of elections and creating equally sized districts.

In other business the Council will have a presentation of the ADA Transition Plan.  They will also accept comments on the ADA Transition Plan.

The City meetings are open to the public for comments and questions on agenda items only.
