Art Jacobs from the First United Methodist Church has served as the race director for the last four years. This is a huge undertaking and the main fundraiser for the youth involved in the five churches. The various churches involved each have duties such as The First United Methodist Church has the race director, sound system as the finish line and awards. The Church of the Brethren handles all food and drink for the runners while the First United Church of Christ dose all the race prep for the course and traffic control. Saint Thomas Episcopal is in charge of all runner registration and packet pick-up while the First Presbyterian Church gathers sponsors for the Stomp and takes care of showers at the park for the runners after the race.
Jacobs said registrations are already in excess of 600 and they always anticipate an additional 200 to 300 online during this the final week. He also noted, “The sponsors that support us with money, goods, and manpower help the race to be so successful.”
