05/21/12 The next Coffee & A Book event will take place May 22 at 7:00pm EDT at Earthworks Market in Plymouth.

The Rev. Dr. Sam Boys will discuss the book The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt.  Dr. Boys points out that people don’t have to read the book to attend – he  will give an overview of the book and facilitate discussion about some of the topics raised. Dr. Boys describes the book as “about how to construct a life of virtue, happiness, fulfillment, and meaning. These topics are approached through many traditions and cultures, and seen from several perspectives – including science and spirituality. This book – and the ensuing conversation it evokes – will invite us to address the question, ‘What is it that makes us truly happy?’”

Rev. Dr. Sam Boys is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Ancilla College. He was born and raised in Plymouth, and has a passion for bringing arts and education to the local community. He is an ordained minister, published author, musician, certified yoga instructor, and member of the Board of Directors for ENCORE Performing Arts here in Marshall County.

Earthworks Market is located at 701 E. Jefferson St. in Plymouth. “Coffee and a Book” is a cultural series co-sponsored by the Ancilla College Humanities Division and Earthworks.
