12/11/12 Members of the Marshall County Council approved a number of transfers and additional appropriations during their meeting on Monday.  Since it is at the end of the year there were nearly two dozen transfers that were approved so that all line items in the budget would end the year in the black.

Council members approved an additional for the Health Department in the amount of $2,924 for four I-pads. Director Wes Burden asked for the funds to be appropriated from the Local Health Maintenance Fund grant.

Sheriff Tom Chamberlin asked to have $3,000 of K9 donations funds be appropriated for a specialized K9 software program that will work with the county’s CAD software. The new software will allow the officer to track traffic stops, training and community service programs on his mobile data terminal.

The third additional appropriation was for the Historical Society.  They asked to have $1,000 appropriated from their gift  fund to pay a part time employee till the end of the year.

Council members also gave Karen Richey from Purdue Extension permission to begin the hiring process to replace a secretary that will be resigning on December 26th.

The County Council also reappointed Maria Keller to the Alcohol Beverage Commission and Julia Campbell to the Argos Library Board.
