02/20/12 The Marshall County Drainage Board and County Commissioners will meet Monday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.

Agenda for the Drainage Board includes a discussion of maintenance for the Gjemre Ditch and the Martin Border Ditch.  In other business the Drainage Board will consider NIPSCO’s application to cross the Blad Ditch which is a regulated drain.  A discussion will be held to consider reducing the maintenance assessment per the motion during the January 2006 meeting and it’s anticipated members will sign the Koontz & King contract for the Moore Ditch maintenance work.

A public hearing will be held at 8:40 on the Edington Tile where an issue on the Irsay property has caused problems for a couple of years.  At 9 a.m. a public hearing will be held on the Clell Fouts drain to discuss increasing the maintenance assessment.

The Plymouth Airport will be requesting a variance to place a sign in the right-of-way and Brandon and Stephanie Leitch of 806 Queen Road in Teegarden were told by the county attorney in court on January 13th to be on the agenda for the Drainage Board.   The final item is a drainage issue at 3A and US 31.  Rex Clippenger will be at the meeting to discuss his concerns.

The County Commissioner meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30.  Their short agenda includes and update by Jennifer Laurent, executive director of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation, the County Attorney’s Report, County Highway Report and approval of minutes and February mid-month claims.

Both meetings are open to the public for comments and questions.
