02/03/12  On Friday, January 27th around 8:30 a.m. Marshall County Police Officers responded to the Sunshine Salvage Yard located at 1882 Lilac Road in reference to a possible burglary and or theft that had taken place in the overnight hours of January 26th and early morning hours of January 27th . Upon arriving on the scene it was found that the subjects entered onto the property and forced entry into the business.  Once inside a large amount of scrap copper and several tools were found to be taken from the building. The subjects apparently left the area in a vehicle after the crime was committed. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at 574-936-3187.

On Friday, January 27th Patrolman Rob Hafke responded to the 20,000 block of 12th Road after receiving a call that an unknown individual broke the window and gained entry into the residence sometime between January 6th and January 27th. It appears that the individual was living in the residence for an unknown amount of time. Hafke reports that there were pieces of siding missing, and there were bags of trash thrown under the home. It’s unknown if any items were missing from the inside.  If anyone has any information in this case, please contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at 574-936-3187.
