09/06/12 On Saturday, September 1st at 4:18 PM Patrolman Kerry Brouyette with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to State Road 10 east of 17C Road for a personal injury accident involving two vehicles.  During his investigation it was learned that a 2005 KIA Sportage SUV driven by 30 year old by Jeremy Hoke of Grand Rapids, Michigan was traveling east bound on State Road 10 when his vehicle  began to hydroplane due to water on the roadway. While the vehicle was hydroplaning it across the center line and struck a 1999 Dodge Caravan driven by 60 year old Herman L. Maxon of Polo, Missouri. Only one person, 25 year old Kelly J. Hoke, a passenger of the KIA sustained injuries. She was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth by the Argos EMS for non-life threatening injuries.  Marshall County Police were assisted at the scene by the Argos Fire and EMS.

Short time later on Saturday at 4:30 PM County Patrolman Les McFarland responded to King and 11th Roads for a two vehicle accident.  A 2005 Pontiac driven by 70 year old Sharie L. Raymond of Plymouth was traveling westbound on 11th Road and failed to yield to a 2006 Ford Pickup truck driven by 31 year old Joshua C. Ramer of Plymouth.   Ramer told the officer he was unable to avoid the collision. No injuries were sustained in the accident.

On Sunday, September 2nd at 9:49 AM Patrolman Matt Brown responded to Michigan and 4th Roads for an unknown accident.  Officer Brown made contact with the driver of a 1997 Chevy Blazer, 27 year old Angela Harding of Plymouth. Harding said she was traveling north on Michigan Road near 4th Road and struck the rear end of a 2010 Chevy Silverado driven by 22 year old Ryan Swihart.  He impact caused Swihart to swerve into the southbound lane and into the path of a 2002 Ford Explore driven by 32 year old Jeorge Humphrey of Hamlet. Four people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by LaPaz EMS and Fire and Plymouth EMS.

Later Sunday night at 11:50 PM Patrolman Nicholas R. Laffoon responded to Thorn Road south of 3B Road in reference to a one vehicle accident. Upon arriving he located 43 year old Laurie A. Schauer of Walkerton the driver of a 2006 Hyundai.  She stated that she was traveling north on Thorn Road south of 3B Road when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle causing damage. She was transported to Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and was treated and later released. The Marshall County Police Department as assisted by Walkerton Police and EMS and Polk Fire.
