01/11/12 The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was a busy place in December.  There were 147 jail bookings last month.  The top ten offenses were 10. Public Intoxication,  9. Possession of a controlled substance, 8. Battery, 7. Cocaine or Meth, 6. Criminal Trespass, 5. Civil, 4. Marijuana, 3. Theft, 2. Failure to Appear and the number one reason Operating While Intoxicated.

The 147 individuals were arrested by all police departments in the county.  Argos police arrested 8 males and 2 females, Bourbon Police arrested 2 males and 1 female, Bremen Police arrested 2 males and 2 females, Culver Police arrested 1 male and 1 female while the Indiana State Police only arrested 1 male and 1 female.   The two agencies making the most arrests in December were the Plymouth Police Department with 30 males and 21 females and the Sheriff’s Department with 43 males and 12 females.

County police officers had 85 accident reports.  13 involved personal injury accidents and 72 were property damage.  There were no County investigated fatalities.

Officers took 181 case reports, wrote 49 citations and received 666 civil process papers.

The monthly 9-1-1 report show that the Dispatch Center answered 1117 calls last month.  Marshall County answered 756 police related calls, 86 fire calls, 236 EMS calls and 942 calls on the non-emergency lines.

During the month of December, Marshall County Deputies self-initiated 745 calls such as traffic stops, assisting motorists, removing debris from roadways and more.
