03/29/12 Tuesday, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced that the Lincoln Township Volunteer Fire Department in Walkerton, received a $684,864 Operations and Safety grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG).
“I’m pleased to announce this grant for the Lincoln Township Volunteer Fire Department because their firefighters work tirelessly to protect our community,” said Donnelly. “Congratulations to the Lincoln Township Volunteer Fire Department on their successful grant application, and I want to thank all first-responders in north central Indiana for their dedicated service.”
AFG grants, intended to enhance the ability of fire departments to protect the safety of both the public and first-responders, are awarded through a competitive grant process.
