06/20/12 Back by popular demand, Encore Performing Arts will be hosting a ‘Parrot-Head Party’ for their first Music in the Park concert on Friday, June 29th. After their popularity last summer, the group was a unanimous choice. Their music offers the sounds and antics similar to Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Refer Band.

Parrots of the Caribbean is a seasoned and diverse quintet from Dayton, Ohio. The musical backgrounds of the members spans some 25 years each, covering a vast variety of styles. They bring the excitement, energy and first-class musicianship of Jimmy Buffett.

Together this popular group of five musicians exemplifies a wide variety of talent second to none. The band members include Dave Albrecht, Jeff ‘Hawaiian Hillbilly’ Cline on lead and rhythm guitars, Kenny ‘Tips’ Rice on keyboard, Gary ‘Riptide’ Rigmaiden on bass and Greg ‘Great White’ Martin on drums, percussion as well as lead and backing vocals,

They have appeared all over the country. A fundraiser by the Rotary Club of Madison, Alabama last year commented, “Their Jimmy Buffett tribute show has been wowing audiences around the country for years now. Heading up this very talented band is Dave ‘Cap’n C’ Albrecht, aka The Voice. The amazing similarity of his voice to that of Jimmy Buffett has astounded many listeners. Dave comes complete with props and costumes for the true feel of a Buffett show!”

They will have CD’s to sell including ‘The Cool Bayou’ featuring all original music.

The group claims to have put the rock in ‘Trop Rock’.
