08/31/12  Beginning Sunday, September 2, 2012, federally extended unemployment insurance benefits will be reduced by 10 weeks. The change is a result of the federal legislation, which reauthorized the extended benefits earlier this year. Claimants who begin the federal extensions (week 27 of benefits and beyond) after Sunday, September 2, 2012 may be eligible to receive a maximum of 63 weeks of benefits instead of 73. Unemployed Hoosiers can calculate how many weeks of benefits remain in their claim by visiting the logon page on Uplink, Indiana’s online filing system, and clicking the “calculate remaining weeks of benefits” icon. More information is located on the Indiana Department of Workforce Development website, www.in.gov/dwd.
