04/26/12 Fitness Forum Sports and Wellness a the LifePlex joins the Medical Fitness Association in celebrating the Eighth Annual Medical Fitness Week from April 23 thought the 29th. The goal of this Medical Fitness Association initiative is to promote an increase in physical activity levels in all ages and to highlight the medical fitness difference.

Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness at LifePlex is recognizing the week by providing day passes to Fitness Forum for local physicians to share with their patients.

The current evidence is overwhelming on the cost and health burden of inactivity to the patient.  The benefits of exercise in treatment and prevention of chronic disease is irrefutable. “If we had a pill that gave all the benefits of exercise and was readily available, we would find a way to make sure every patient took it” Robert E Sallis, MD.   During this international event, medical fitness centers and communities are asked to offer programming that focuses on teaching families the skills they need to develop healthy lifestyle habits.

Fitness Forum invites the public to stop in for a free guided tour during Medical Fitness Week.  Stop by and see what makes the Medical Fitness Difference.
