07/23/12 The City of Plymouth will conduct its regular meetings on Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.
The Board of Public Works and Safety meeting is first with the award of bids for the Headworks Influent Control Project. Five companies have submitted bids with the base bids ranging from $109,155 from Michiana Contracting in Plymouth up to $139,000 by Mason Engineering and Construction from Fort Wayne. Each company also bid on three alternatives.
City department heads will also report on the activates in their specific departments. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt will discuss the 2012 ADA Sidewalk Transition Plan and the results his staff has made at fixing a number of intersection that were not handicap accessible.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi will present a resolution to modify the job title and description of the records clerk/typists to that of the multi-task employee. A second resolution will be to write off delinquent and uncollectable water, waste-water, garbage and storm-water bills. The final item the city attorney will present is the acceptance of Marshall County’s dedication agreement for the jail lift station into the city’s infrastructure.
Under other business Board of Works members will see a presentation by The Troyer Group for River Park Square.
The Plymouth Common Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The agenda includes two public hearings, one for the annexation of Richter Road north of Baker Street and the second for the Tax Abatement for AK Industries.
Members of the Common Council will hear first reading of the 2013 ordinance fixing salaries for employees and elected officials at a rate up to 3%. Mayor Senter is hoping for an increase somewhere between two to three percent. Another ordinance will amend the depositories for city funds.
The city meetings are open to the public where comments and questions on agenda items will be allowed.
