05/03/12 The Plymouth Schools did not have to look far to find new principals for the Discovery Academy (currently Washington Elementary) and Lincoln Junior High. Andrew Hartley, now Plymouth High School assistant principal, will be heading up the Academy in the fall. Current principal, Michelle Riise, was named to a newly created position of Director of Development within the last few weeks. Her appointment left an opening for a principal for the 2012-2013 school year.

Reid Gault is now serving as the assistant principal at Lincoln Junior High. He was unanimously approved by the board to replace Dan Funston for the next school year. Funston will be stepping up to assistant superintendent.

Hartley received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Manchester College in 2000, where he majored in elementary education with a junior high/middle school and Social Studies endorsement. He went on the obtain a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Butler University in 2006.

Hartley is expected to complete an Educational Specialist Degree in School Administration-superintendent this summer. He came to the Plymouth corporation in 2008.

Among other awards, Hartley was named Assistant Principal of the Year in 2010 by the Indiana Association of School Principals.

Gault studied at Butler University and Indiana University. He graduated in 1996 with a major in Kinesiology. In December 2006, he earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Indianapolis.

Gault served a assistant principal at LJH from 2007-2010. He was then named principal at Lowell Middle School in Lowell, Indiana. He returned to LJH in 2011.

In addition to his teaching and administration career, Gault coached high school basketball at Warren Central for ten years.
