August 27, 2012
By

08/28/12 Olympic 1500-meter finalist Morgan Uceny is coming home to Plymouth this weekend.

The injuries that Morgan sustained during her fall in the gold medal race at the London Olympics have not healed. She has been forced to cancel the rest of her professional track season, and she is leaving her training camp in Italy to come home for some rest and relaxation.

On Saturday, September 1st at 2:00 pm at the Amphitheatre, there will be a “Morgan Uceny–London Olympian, Meet and Greet”!    Brenda Uceny will thank the community for its support for the family and then long time friend, Angelo DiCarlo local TV sports anchor will introduce Morgan and have a chat with her on stage.  After the chat, Morgan will sign autographs, so bring your “MO” shirts and posters!!

Brenda said, “Morgan is really coming home for the “Blueberry Donuts and is planning on eating her way through the festival”. Morgan will be leaving Plymouth on Sunday evening and will not be able to appear in the parade on Monday.

The Festival encourages people to please make plans to welcome home a real Plymouth Hero!!!
