05/15/12 The Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) is conducting an outreach program to better inform businesses who reside in a HUBZone (historically under-utilized business zone), which includes all of Marshall County, of opportunities regarding federal government contracting.

The federal government often contracts with small businesses for almost any type of service or good.  This program will provide information on how government contracting can make a big impact on an individual small business’s success, though many have never considered this as a steady revenue stream, and imagine it to be full of pitfalls and red tape.  The local SBDC and SBA advisors can help navigate.   Being in a HUBZone can help put your business at the top of the list.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Learn eligibility requirements and benefits.
  • How to apply for the certification.
  • How      to find opportunities.
  • Hear      from a current HUBZone Contractor on how they have succeeded.
  • Assistance      available in the northern Indiana region.

The workshop will be held on May 17th from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Midas Center, 200 North Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.

There is no charge for the workshop but reservations are required.  Please call the ISBDC at (574) 282-4350 x0 to reserve your space.
