PLYMOUTH, INDIANA – The Ancilla College men’s basketball team went into Saturday’s road game against Lansing Community College shorthanded due to injuries and the smaller bench proved to be costly.  The Chargers lost the game to the Stars 99-77 in Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference play. Lansing leads the conference with an 11-1 record.

Despite the smaller squad, the Chargers (8-13, 2-9 MCCAA West), had a 35-27 lead late in the first half. That’s when the Stars went on a 19-1 run and Lansing went into the locker room at half-time with a 10 point lead. Lansing was able to pull away in the second half outscoring Ancilla 53-41.

Ancilla head coach Greg Neeley said, “We started well, but their physical play and athleticism got to us as the game wore on.”

The Chargers had a strong showing in the game by Joby Renbarger (Greentown, IN, Eastern HS) who had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Marc Constable (Kaplan, LA, Kaplan HS) had 22 points and four assists.

The Chargers will be back at home on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Lake Michigan College at the LifePlex.   WT CA Pre-Game Show begins right after the conclusion of the Girls game.
