08/22/12  On Saturday, August 25th around 2:40am, Officers with the Marshall County Police Department investigated an accident on State Road 10 just east of State Road 331 near Tippecanoe.

A Silver 2006 Volkswagen Golf driven by Andrew Meloy 22, of Tippecanoe was traveling westbound on SR 10 east of SR 331when Meloy swerved to the right, then to the left to miss an animal crossing the road causing him to lose control and run off the roadway into a corn field, with the vehicle rolling at least once with the vehicle coming to rest on its top.

Meloy refused medical treatment at the scene of the collision, and also failed several field sobriety tests and a portable breath test.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he failed a certified breath test, and was booked in with the charges of driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15% or more.   Mely was given a $1500.00 cash bond for his release with a scheduled court appearance in Marshall County Superior Court II on September 4th at 8:30am.
