02/03/12Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin released the January 2012 Activity Report for his department.

184 people were booked into the Marshall County Jail in January.  Of those booked in Argos had 3 males and 2 females, Bourbon arrested 2 males while Bremen took 3 males to the jail and 1 female.  Culver police officers arrested 1 male last month and the Indiana State Police arrested 3 males and 3 females.  Officers with the Plymouth Police Department booked in 49 males and 25 females while County officers arrested 56 males and 21 females.

The top 10 offenses booked into the jail in January were 10) Illegal Consumption, 9) Resisting Law Enforcement, 8) Public Intoxication, 7) Cocaine/Meth, 6) Marijuana, 5) Marijuana, 4) Probation Violation, 3) Failure to Appear, 2) OWI, and the number one reason people were lodged in the County Jail last month Theft.

County Police Officers investigated 95 accidents in January; 19 involved personal injury and 76 were property damage.  The officers had 86 case reports taken, and wrote 42 citations while 677 Civil process papers were received.

The Marshall County Dispatch Center answered 1166   9-1-1 calls in the month of January.  The Dispatch Center answered 725 police related calls, fire responded to 113 of the 9-1-1 calls, EMS responded to 268 of the 9-1-1 calls and the County also answered 899 calls for service on the non-emergency lines.

During the month of January, Marshall Cuonty Deputies self-initiated 1039 calls including traffic stops, assisting motorists, removing debris from roadways and others.
