05/09/12 Residents of Miller’s Senior Living in Plymouth celebrated the Kentucky Derby with a special luncheon provided by the award winning dietary department.  The menu consisted of Kentucky Hot Brown, Over the Top Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Churchill Downs Seasoned Green Beans, Race Day Pie and Mint Juleps.

Activity Director Cindy Flagg decorated the tables with a derby theme and was decked out in her stylish Kentucky Derby hat as she served the Mint Juleps.  Residents were invited to also wear their race day hats and while dining the residents answered Kentucky Derby trivia questions.

Following lunch residents were invited to the Recreation Center to have popcorn and watch the popular 2012 movie “secretariat”.  The television was tuned in to the Kentucky Derby pre-show at 4:00 p.m. followed by the race at 6:00 p.m.
