03/15/12 The Marshall County Master Gardener Association and Purdue Extension Office is offering a five evening series on landscape basics, lawn care, managing your trees and shrubs, growing flowers, and gardening.  This educational series will be held at the Plymouth Public Library, 201 North Center Street, Plymouth on Thursday, March 22, Thursday, March 29, Thursday, April 12, Tuesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 19.  Each session will start at 6:30 pm and last around 1 1/2 hours in the Laramore Meeting Room.

The goal of this program is to allow Marshall County Master Gardeners and Purdue Extension share home landscape care and gardening principles to help area gardeners have their gardening questions addressed, expanding their understanding of caring for plants and making landscapes attractive and useable, and to enjoy the fellowship of visiting with other gardening enthusiasts that live in the Plymouth area.

The only cost to attend this program is an $8 fee for a resource booklet that will be a reference for the 5 evening series being HO-236 “Taking Care of Your Yard”.  It is a 37 page publication that provides essential information on lawns, trees, shrubs, and garden flowers.  If you would like to participate in this program, please call the Marshall County Extension office at 935-8545 or e-mail ryoder@purdue.edu to allow appropriate handouts to be prepared for these sessions.

As spring is rapidly approaching, take advantage of this gardening series to brush up your gardening knowledge and gain new ideas on how to manage your landscape and gardens.
