09/19/12 National Assisted Living Week began Saturday, September 8th as Plymouth City Councilman Don Ecker read a proclamation in the absence of Mayor Mark Center.  Following the District Two Councilman’s speech Miller’s Senior Living Community’s annual Classic Car Cruise-In got underway.

Guest DJ Quentin Flagg revved the crowd up with his oldies music as the cars came pouring in to the parking lot.  As guests and residents leisurely strolled and admired the cars; games were held for the young and young-alike.

Seven year old Wayne Flora won the bubble gum blowing contest by blowing the largest bubble.  Emily Stiles was the winner of the hula hoop contest.  Winning the Twist Contest was Nicole Mickow.  Ike Huls won the powered chair race by only a fraction of an inch against Steve Styres.

The events came to a close as Miller’s Marketing Director announced the “Best of Show” classic car winner.  She proudly presented the trophy to Jerry and Marilyn Yotter ofWarsaw.  They were the crowd favorite with their 1957 Chevy Bel Aire, two door, hard top sports edition.

The Classic Car Cruise – In is held each year during National Assisted Living Week.  For more information call Anna Corbett at 574-936-9801.
