09/12/12 National Assisted Living Week is upon us running from Saturday, September 8 through Friday, September 14.  Established in 1995, National Assisted Living Week provides a unique opportunity for residents, families, staff, volunteers and the surrounding community to come together to give residents a variety of exciting events and activities that show them how much they are cared about and loved.  The 2012 theme “Art for the Ages” will inspire creativity and participation by residents and the community.

The staff and volunteers at Miller’s Senior Living Community located at 625 Oakhill Avenue have many events planned throughout the week for the people of all ages.  The following events are FREE and open to the public:

On Wednesday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m.  Sentimental Journey of Bourbon will appear in concert playing their hits of the 40’s Big Band era.  Bring your lawn chair and sit under the carport and listen to the music that will take you back to your youth.  Don’t forget your dancing shoes.

On Thursday, September 13th at 2:00 p.m.  Plymouth’s own Mike Lintner will share his musical talent at Miller’s Main Lobby.  Mike plays guitar and enjoys singing some of the older country and gospel tunes.  At 6:30 p.m.  the Country Express Band is back by popular demand.  You won’t want to miss this good time of country music

On Friday, September 14th at 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Miller’s week of exciting events ends with a Wine and Cheese Open House.  You are invited to come tour the facility and view the entries from the Photo Contest.  You will have a chance to vote for “Best of Show” photograph and all photo winners will be announced at this time.

Miller’s Senior Living Community extends an invitation to all to take part in the week’s festivities.  Events will take place rain or shine.  For more information about any event call 574-936-9801 and ask for Anna Corbett or Cindy Flagg.
