03/15/12 Residents and guests of Plymouth Miller’s Senior Living Community in traveled to Argos High School on Sunday to enjoy lunch and the Purdue Glee Club. The Log House Restaurant catered lunch was held in the high school gymnasium. The young men from the glee club opened the meal with a beautiful prayer in song. The glee club members sat and visited with those in attendance throughout the meal. They are considered ambassadors for Purdue University and they did a fine job representing their school. Argos graduate Steve Sanders took time to pose with the Miller’s group and tell them a little about himself.
The Purdue Glee Club is made up of young men studying in the fields of engineering, education, business, agriculture, and communication to name a few. The club is an extra-curricular activity in which they devote their time and talent. Argos was the first stop on their spring tour as they are heading east.
Following lunch the crowd gathered in the auditorium. The Argos High School Choir opened with two fun and lively numbers. The Purdue Glee Club followed with a flawless musical performance of a variety of music. An especially memorable moment of the concert was when Sanders invited his mother to the stage and sang a song her wrote especially for her. He also thanked Argos music director Sandy Burroughs for “dragging” him off the basketball floor and in to the music program.
