05/14/12 Jerry Kreamer of Indianapolis took time Thursday to pay a pre-Mother’s Day visit to his step-mother Ivy Kreamer who lives at Miller’s Senior Living Community in Plymouth.  While it is not unusual to visit a loved one; he did surprise the entire population of Miller’s with a trumpet concert during the afternoon.

Kreamer played trumpet in high school and continued playing in college.  After graduation he enjoyed playing and through the years has kept his lip in shape.  He now travels to Indianapolis area nursing and assisted living facilities volunteering his talent and entertaining the residents.  He played many favorite hymns, big band tunes and sing-a-long type songs. While explaining his relationship with Ivy he noted that Ivy is “nothing like those wicked step-mothers you hear about” and he is blessed to have her in his life. By the smile on Ivy’s face you could tell the feelings were mutual.  Ivy and her new friends were all happy to see Jerry and enjoyed his concert.

Miller’s always welcomes new talent to their facility.  If you are interested in sharing your talent with the residents of Miller’s call 936-9801 and ask for Cindy Flagg.
