09/24/12 The literacy initiative at Lincoln Junior High could get a much needed boost from the Ford Motor Company and Oliver Ford Lincoln in Plymouth.   On Saturday, September 29, LJH will be hosting a “Drive for Lincoln Literacy” at the Plymouth High Schools parking lot. The event, Drive 4 UR School, will be held on the north side of the school from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Ford Motor Company will donate up to $6,000 to the school by paying $20 for each test drive. The amount will depends on how many drivers take a test drive.

Those taking advantage of the test drive will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win an all-new 2013 Ford Escape.

LJH Principal Reid Gualt said, “Literacy is the most important skill we want our students to have when they leave Lincoln. It is our goal to help all students to become literate citizens of the world.” Gault added, “This task means that we must prepare students with the ability to create, critique, analyze, and evaluate multiple styles of text from anywhere at any time.”
