07/11/12 The Planting Pride in Plymouth/America in Bloom Committee announces that they have organized a local Beautification Contest to increase residents’ awareness of the importance of beautifying the community.
The Beautification Contest is an initiative designed to improve the quality of life for residents by encouraging and contributing to the beautification of the environment and to promote the development of ornamental horticulture, and to encourage tourism in the community.
All homes and businesses, commercial or manufacturing within the City of Plymouth are eligible for the award. Any home owner or business owner may nominate themselves to receive the award or you may be nominated by any other person that appreciates what you have done to beautiful the community.
Evaluation Criteria includes the general tidiness of the property, health of the vegetation, choice and harmony of plants, landscape components and balance in the display.
Recognition will include a tasteful sign that will be placed in front of the home or business for one or two weeks honoring the property, a certificate of recognition will be presented to home or business owner and a picture of the property receiving the award will be submitted for publication in the local newspaper and on the WTCA’s website.
