06/19/12 Without any discussion members of the Plymouth Common Council heard on first reading an ordinance accepting the petitions gathered and certified in favor of extending park and recreation services to the unincorporated areas of Center and West Townships. Park Board President Dave Morrow and member Bob Beiter were present at the meeting.
The Common Council must pass the ordinance on second and third readings by July first for it to make it on the ballot for the November election.
The Council also passed the resolution approving the issuance of bonds by the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission for the first phase of River Park Square, a multimillion dollar project.
In other business the Plymouth Common Council heard first reading on the nepotism law passed by state legislators that goes into effect July 1st.
