05/07/12 41 year old Teofilo C Cuatiacuati of Plymouth escaped serious injury Friday night in a single vehicle crash on US 31 just north of 1st Road.
Cuatiacuati was traveling southbound on US 31 in a 1997 Cutlass when the4 vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the roadway, going down and striking an embankment and rolling over several times. The car came to rest on its top in the side yard of a residence.
Cuatiacuati was seat-belted in was able to remove himself from the seat belt but had to be extricated by LaPaz Fire. He was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where he was treated and release for injuries sustained in the crash.
Marshall County Police Officer Larry Snyder noted that speed was a contributing factor to the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
