06/04/12 The Plymouth School Board will meet on Tuesday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Board Room.

Agenda items include the proposed hire of a number of special education teachers formerly employed though JESSE. The JESSE program has undergone reorganization changes over the last several months. During the business portion of the school board meeting, the members will consider a JESSE service district agreement and a special education stimulus asset list.

According to Superintendent Daniel Tyree, the teachers would be hired under a corporations’ contract. Tyree said the corporation will continue to pay for physical therapy, occupational therapy, hearing impaired services, vision impaired services as well as services of an emotional disabilities expert and an autism expert. He further explained that the only “out to district” services provided would in the preschool programs.

The board will also consider contracts for administrators, assistant superintendent, and the superintendent.

Ryan Carroll will be presenting information on the new concussion procedures for athletes.

Additional items on the agenda include: Contract for nursing services, proposed contract for bus maintenance, the first reading of acceptable use policy revision, textbook fees for grades 7-12 for the 2012-2013 school year, appointment to the Library Board, and an agreement with the Blueberry Festival.

Meetings are open to the public; however, comments are restricted to agenda items only.
